Sodium polyacrylate is a synthetic polymer—basically a long chain of repeating molecules that acts like a super-sponge.
You've probably encountered it before in:
In cleaning products, sodium polyacrylate serves as a thickening and stabilizing agent. It helps keep the formula from separating, maintains consistency from the first use to the last, and improves the way the product clings to surfaces during cleaning.
